  1. A great reminder, big guy! In reading that I sense invitation and struggle. The invitation is to live in that way (ala Colossians 3:1-3). The struggle is that such a perspective is so easy to lose in the day-to-day realities and pressures of life. Thanks for that really great reminder at the beginning of the day. I needed that.

    • Well said, my friend! For St. Paul it is pressing on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Phil 3.6-16). Jesus invites us to seek first the Kingdom of God and enter through the narrow gate. No wonder our hearts long for another world. This one is too easy and convenient. He calls us to struggle as a soldier, farmer, and athlete but we’d rather make sand castles on the beach and only think about working out. Do we actually know what we’re doing here at all? Sometimes I wonder…Thanks for engaging The UnCommon Journey. I enjoy our little chats. Keith
